A free resource that serves as a great introductory reference for point of care ultrasound
"Practical Guide to Critical Ultrasound, Vol. 1 & 2" by Resa Lewis
A free resource for point-of-care users caring for patients in emergency and critical care environments. Contains interactive image and narrated video focused book to be a quick reference and a just-in-time learning tool.
Free Apps
Allows you to safely calculate the maximum dose of local anesthetic
Offers a comprehensive library of ultrasound resources, including instructional videos and case studies.
Provides focused ultrasound protocols, image interpretation, and clinical integration.
A reference app providing guidelines for ultrasound procedures, including anatomy and pathology.
A clinical calculator and reference tool for echocardiography, although not exclusively POCUS, it's a useful free resource.
Offers a range of radiology calculators and reference tools, including some ultrasound guidelines.
FOAMED
Great resource for short narrated videos (5 min sono) as well as US Q Bank. Although the latter has a charge, as a resident you should have access.
It will guide you through the most common (and not so common) US-guided nerve blocks. A resource to review -if you have enough time, before, or after you've performed the procedure.
Dr. Tovar is a co-creator of this beautiful free open access POCUS resource in Spanish. Great to review common topics and to brush on your medical Spanish!
